RalleyBall Qatar 2022 Mobile

Created in Unity for Android and iOS platforms

An online multiplayer augmented reality soccer game developed for Android and iOS using Photon Realtime. App was created as a pitch project for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Sadly our project was not chosen by the client, so development did not progress any further than this playable demo. Players engage in a tile based inspired soccer keep-up game. Each team rallies the ball before shooting it at the opposing team’s field. That ball is then intercepted, rallied and then fired back. The team that forces the other to drop the ball scores points. Movement is controlled by tapping one of the soccer player avatars and then selecting a target tile. If two characters collide within the center of the field, a fast paced minigame is played, with the winner gaining control of the ball.

Was a developer on the project, responsible for numerous gameplay, multiplayer, character, animation, FX, UI, and audio elements. Implemented various multiplayer aspects, such as networked gameplay, matchmaking, and private matches. Also created the tile based movement and aiming system. Generates heat maps of where the player can move and the ball will land, based on the stats of the character and soccer moves. Also made grid based field dynamic, allowing for easy editing and quick iterations.

Implemented an editor to create, modify and test the various soccer ball kicks the player can perform. Integrated this with Unity’s animation system, so character’s limbs will be in the correct positions when intercepting the ball during a rally.
