George Brown – Butchery Fundamentals

Created in Three.js for web

An interactive educational web app developed using Three.js. Was created for George Brown’s Culinary Bachelors Degree. Web app allows for students to view and interact with real time 3D models and animations for seven different curriculums (Beef, Chicken, Fish, Wild Game, Kitchen, Lamb and Pork). Description tags label the various parts of the meat. Once clicked, white colored tags will update the video player with the corresponding video. Black colored tags will trigger an animation of the subject breaking down, revealing a deeper layer with a further collection of tags. Once the user has reviewed all the information, they are able to take a simple gamified quiz to test their newly learnt knowledge.

For this project, I learned and got accustomed to the Three.js environment. Created the tag system to highlight areas of interest on 3D models and to play animations when applicable. Made system flexible, so it could easily swap between the various different curriculums. Also implemented the simple gamified quizzes for each curriculum and other necessary features, such as a TTS reader for the visually impaired.
